She loves local foods, long walks, good books ("anything by Yukio Mishima or
William Faulkner"). And her husband.
He reciprocates. And admits a certain fondness for "light, bright, brooding
clouds, a comfy bed... and good earth."
Together, this young, energetic couple are carving a good life from the
well-cared-for soil of their 30-acre farm in Hurdle Mills. And sharing the
bounty of their harvest with us!
Come hear Alice and Stuart White describe the challenges and joys of
farming sustainably. See slides about life at Bluebird Meadows Farm. Get the
skinny on the local farmers' market scene
and the burgeoning CSA movement. (Click here if you want to learn more about
Community-Supported Agriculture.)
If you are one of the 22
neighborhood households who for 20 weeks this spring and summer retrieved a full
or half share of beautiful veggies and flowers from our drop-off point in
Falconbridge, this is your chance to thank Alice and Stuart for all their work
so lovingly delivered. If you missed out this year, visit the BlueBird Meadows CSA blog
to see what everyone is raving about, then come join us for talk and fellowship.
