Making Friends with Gravity:
Moving with Ease and Avoiding Falls and Injuries

Certified Feldenkrais practitioner and licensed physical therapist Paul McAndrew, will teach interested Falconbridge and Meadowmont residents and friends how to avoid falling, avoid injuries from falls, and re-awaken a graceful sense of balance and easy movement. We think of gravity as something to fear.  Instead, it’s actually a force we can harness to make many activities easier and more productive.  Come learn how.

The class will be tailored to the needs of those who register. Registration is limited to 10 participants, first-come first-served. To register, send check along with name, address, and phone number to Falconbridge Village Association, 6 Lacrosse Place, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

Falconbridge Together!
A Day of Fun, Festivity, and Community

Co-sponsored collaboratively by all the Falconbridge associations:  Falconbridge Village Association, Falconbridge Community Association, Falconbridge Homeowners Association, and Community Club of Falconbridge

We will start with FUN: a hilarious dog parade, with ribbons for all kinds of “best” categories awarded by our neighbors who reside at Wynwood Assisted Living.  This will be followed by a work party under the direction of Ron Johnson of FHOA, helping to spruce up the area around the lake for everyone’s enjoyment. We will then enjoy outdoor games and activities and a potluck dinner with entertainment at the Falconbridge Clubhouse.

SAVE THE DATE, AND HELP BUILD AND ENJOY COMMUNITY.

She loves local foods, long walks, good books ("anything by Yukio Mishima or William Faulkner"). And her husband.

He reciprocates. And admits a certain fondness for "light, bright, brooding clouds, a comfy bed... and good earth."

Together, this young, energetic couple are carving a good life from the well-cared-for soil of their 30-acre farm in Hurdle Mills. And sharing the bounty of their harvest with us!

Come hear Alice and Stuart White describe the challenges and joys of farming sustainably. See slides about life at Bluebird Meadows Farm. Get the skinny on the local farmers' market scene and the burgeoning CSA movement. (Click here if you want to learn more about Community-Supported Agriculture.)

If you are one of the 22 neighborhood households who for 20 weeks this spring and summer retrieved a full or half share of beautiful veggies and flowers from our drop-off point in Falconbridge, this is your chance to thank Alice and Stuart for all their work so lovingly delivered. If you missed out this year, visit the BlueBird Meadows CSA blog to see what everyone is raving about, then come join us for talk and fellowship.
